Indiana Defensive Driving Course

Upon successful completion of this 4-hour BMV- and Court-approved driver safety program, you will receive a 4-point credit on your official Indiana driving record. Additionally, this course may be used to meet court or BMV requirements to attend a defensive driving course.

This course satisfies the following requirements:

• Court-Ordered Defensive Driving: If you have received an Indiana traffic ticket, your court may require you to complete a defensive driving course for point reduction or dismissal, or as an alternative to your license being suspended.
• BMV-Referred Defensive Driving: The Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) requires any driver who commits 2 or more traffic violations within a period of 1 year (12 months) to undergo a defensive driving program in order to avoid suspension of their driver's license.When you successfully complete the eDriving Traffic School program, you will meet all court or BMV requirements for your driver safety course. You may also take the course voluntarily to receive the 4-point credit. Your Certificate of Completion for the course will be electronically submitted to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles within 24 hours of your course completion.
