Samsung has developed a new technology that will enable road users to SEE THROUGH trucks in front of them.

The Korean company created the technology in response to the high number of traffic accidents in Argentina that occur on two-lane roads in overtaking situations. It now wants to roll out a line of ‘Safety Trucks’ to address the problem.

The trucks will use cameras, wireless video and huge displays on the back of the vehicle to allow drivers to see what is coming towards them without having to risk pulling out into approaching traffic to check.

Samsung points out that another advantage of the Safety Truck is that it may reduce the risk of accidents caused by sudden braking or animals crossing the road.

Samsung led the prototype development by providing large format display samples, and conducted a test with a local B2B client.

The next step is to perform the corresponding tests in order to comply with the existing national protocols and obtain the necessary permits and approvals. For this, Samsung is working together with safe driving NGOs and the government.
