Maruti Suzuki India Limited is partnering with Delhi Police to implement a Traffic Safety Management System (TSMS) in the national capital.

The main objectives of the TSMS include a reduction in incidents and fatalities, improved compliance of traffic rules, increased awareness of commuter safety and surveillance of traffic movement.

Maruti Suzuki will set up the TSMS and maintain it for two years. It will feature a red light violation detection system, speed violation detection system and automatic number plate recognition system.

The TSMS will be set up along the ring road corridor from Dhaula Kuan to Sarai Kale Khan, a stretch of around 14km. The project is the first of its kind in the capital and is in line with the Government’s focus to make roads safer. Last year, almost 1,500 people lost their lives in road collisions in Delhi.
