{"id":10133,"date":"2020-10-13T20:11:06","date_gmt":"2020-10-13T20:11:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=10133"},"modified":"2020-10-13T20:11:06","modified_gmt":"2020-10-13T20:11:06","slug":"nsw-football-partnership-aims-to-improve-road-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/nsw-football-partnership-aims-to-improve-road-safety\/","title":{"rendered":"NSW football partnership aims to improve road safety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The New South Wales (NSW) Government is continuing its partnership with the Western Sydney Wanderers football team to promote road safety.<\/p>\n<p>The club has recently unveiled its new kit with the call for drivers to slow down as part of the \u201c<em>who do you slow down for?\u201d<\/em> campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Acting Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole says speeding remains the leading cause of death and injuries on NSW roads, accounting for about 34 percent of fatalities in the Greater Sydney region in 2019 and 37 percent in Western Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t stress enough how important it is to slow down,\u201d he said. \u201cWith the help of the Western Sydney Wanderers, we\u2019re using the power of football to raise awareness and start conversations about road trauma and how everyone can help prevent it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Wanderers partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transport.nsw.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Transport for NSW<\/a> dates back to 2015, and is set to continue into 2022.
