{"id":10726,"date":"2021-07-07T15:05:26","date_gmt":"2021-07-07T15:05:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=10726"},"modified":"2021-07-12T16:16:16","modified_gmt":"2021-07-12T16:16:16","slug":"uk-drivers-confused-about-green-number-plates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/uk-drivers-confused-about-green-number-plates\/","title":{"rendered":"UK drivers confused about green number plates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Almost one third of UK drivers do not know what green number plates represent, more than six months after their introduction, according to a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theaa.com\/about-us\/newsroom\/green-number-plate-confusion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AA survey<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new number plates were introduced in December 2020 to indicate a zero-emission vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>The most popular misconceptions in the survey, which questioned 14,719 drivers, were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>274 people thought it denoted being allowed to park in green zones<\/li>\n<li>53 people thought the driver was an Irish National<\/li>\n<li>36 people thought it meant the driver was a member of the Green Party<\/li>\n<li>35 people thought it meant the driver voted Brexit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Edmund King, AA president, who was one of the first to get a green number plate last December, says he expects the plates to become a more common sight, as it is projected that electric vehicles will make up a quarter of new car sales in 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Almost one third of UK drivers do not know what green number plates represent, more than six months after their introduction, according to a new AA survey.
