Drivers in New South Wales (NSW), Australia, are being urged to \u201ctreat everyone on the roads as if they are family\u201d as part of Road Rules Awareness Week.<\/p>\n
The annual event encourages motorists to do their part to keep themselves and others safe by refreshing their knowledge of road rules.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to treat everyone on the roads as if they are loved ones as if they are family,\u201d said Minister for Metropolitan Roads, Natalie Ward.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery decision we make can have consequences, and sometimes they can be tragic and avoidable. We have a shared responsibility to make our roads safer, and following and understanding the road rules is vital.\u201d<\/p>\n
Last year NSW recorded the lowest road toll since 1923 with 270 fatalities.<\/p>\n
