{"id":13727,"date":"2022-03-28T14:02:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-28T14:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=13727"},"modified":"2022-03-28T14:02:00","modified_gmt":"2022-03-28T14:02:00","slug":"road-safety-in-scotland-boosted-by-17m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/road-safety-in-scotland-boosted-by-17m\/","title":{"rendered":"Road safety in Scotland boosted by \u00a317m"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Funding worth \u00a317m is being invested in road safety in Scotland a bid for the country to have \u201cthe best road safety performance in the world\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Government funding package for 2022\/23 is being provided to help deliver commitments in the new <em>Road Safety Framework<\/em> which sets out a vision for Scotland to have the best road safety performance in the world by 2030 and an ambitious long-term goal where no one is seriously injured or killed on our roads by 2050.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cScotland can be proud of our longstanding commitment to improving road safety,\u201d said Minister for Transport, Jenny Gilruth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want that to continue, but also for us to continue to make improvements. Our aim is for Scotland to have the best road safety performance in the world and so I\u2019m pleased to confirm that the Scottish Government will invest \u00a317 million to improve road safety in the coming year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis significantly enhanced funding package will help us ensure that Scotland has the best road safety performance in the world by 2030 and help achieve our long-term goal of \u2018Vision Zero\u2019 where no one is seriously injured or killed on our roads by 2050.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Funding worth \u00a317m is being invested in road safety in Scotland a bid for the country to have \u201cthe best road safety performance in the world\u201d.
