But if you have to be on the roads during this week\u2019s storms, please be careful and take basic safety measures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The DMV has issued the following driver safety tips during severe weather events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t drive unless you have to.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce your speed and maintain a safe distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.<\/li>\n<li>If weather conditions require you to use your windshield wipers, remember to use your low-beam headlights.<\/li>\n<li>Keep both hands on the wheel.<\/li>\n<li>Stay alert \u2013 don\u2019t get distracted.
