{"id":14393,"date":"2023-07-31T14:30:41","date_gmt":"2023-07-31T14:30:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=14393"},"modified":"2023-07-31T14:30:41","modified_gmt":"2023-07-31T14:30:41","slug":"euro-ncap-announces-first-vehicles-to-achieve-top-marks-in-newly-updated-safety-tests","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/euro-ncap-announces-first-vehicles-to-achieve-top-marks-in-newly-updated-safety-tests\/","title":{"rendered":"Euro NCAP announces first vehicles to achieve top marks in newly updated safety tests"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Euro NCAP has revealed the first vehicles to achieve five stars under its new updated testing standards.<\/p>\n<p>This year the organization updated its safety testing protocol to include new systems in child presence detection, specifications for vehicle submergence as well as the latest technologies that detect &#8211; and respond &#8211; to motorcyclists and vulnerable road users.<\/p>\n<p>Two cars from Chinese manufacturer NIO the Large Family car ET5 and the Large SUV EL7 were the first vehicles to be tested under the scenarios.<\/p>\n<p>Euro NCAP said both vehicles delivered exceptional performance in most of the test cases.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the new rating gets tougher, to be among the first cars tested might be slightly daunting,\u201d said Dr Michiel van Ratingen, Secretary General Euro NCAP.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, NIO has stepped up to the challenge and achieved two five-star results, underlining their big ambitions for the brand.\u00a0 Safety technologies are becoming complex, yet I want to reassure consumers that Euro NCAP will continue to anticipate and adapt to changes in our rating scheme, challenging vehicle manufacturers to ensure drivers \u2013 and the road users they interact with \u2013 are offered the safest possible vehicles.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Euro NCAP has revealed the first vehicles to achieve five stars under its new updated testing standards.
