{"id":14750,"date":"2024-08-21T15:00:32","date_gmt":"2024-08-21T15:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=14750"},"modified":"2024-08-09T18:13:47","modified_gmt":"2024-08-09T18:13:47","slug":"9-million-in-grants-open-for-learner-driver-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/9-million-in-grants-open-for-learner-driver-program\/","title":{"rendered":"$9 million in grants open for learner driver program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Funding of $9.1m has been made available in Western Australia to local organizations helping address barriers preventing disadvantaged people from obtaining their driver&#8217;s licence.<\/p>\n<p>Grants for the Driving Access and Equity Program (DAEP) has already helped more than 600 disadvantaged community members through the driver&#8217;s licence journey and has now expanded into the Great Southern and South West regions for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re really proud to continue supporting this amazing program that&#8217;s helping to change the lives of hundreds of people across the State,\u201d said Transport Minister Rita Saffioti.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We know there are unique barriers people in our community can face when getting their driver&#8217;s licence, like accessing a safe vehicle, having someone to assist with driver training or obtaining the required identity documents.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;By supporting these community members to get their driver&#8217;s licence, we&#8217;re helping to not only unlock major employment, training and education opportunities, but also supporting their independence and improving access to healthcare and other essential services.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Funding of $9.1m has been made available in Western Australia to local organizations helping address barriers preventing disadvantaged people from obtaining their driver&#8217;s licence.
