{"id":15235,"date":"2025-08-28T17:57:36","date_gmt":"2025-08-28T17:57:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=15235"},"modified":"2025-08-28T17:57:36","modified_gmt":"2025-08-28T17:57:36","slug":"safety-warning-to-labor-day-travelers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/safety-warning-to-labor-day-travelers\/","title":{"rendered":"Safety warning to Labor Day travelers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With millions of Americans expected to travel for the Labor Day holiday celebrating the end of summer, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Safety Council<\/a> has issued a plea for motorists to prioritize safety and drive cautiously.<\/p>\n<p>The organization has estimated 424 may die in preventable traffic crashes over the weekend and has issued road safety tips to help keep road users safe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLabor Day weekend travel requires extra caution,\u201d said Mark Chung, executive vice president of safety leadership and advocacy at NSC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;re still in the most dangerous season for roadway users, and everyone plays a role in preventing avoidable tragedies. Drivers who plan on traveling during Labor Day weekend must exercise increased caution and take the necessary steps to arrive safely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NSC has issued the following advice to prevent crashes and save lives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan ahead and designate a sober driver before celebrations begin, or use a rideshare service, taxi or public transportation if you\u2019ve been drinking<\/li>\n<li>Host responsibly to ensure guests have a safe way home<\/li>\n<li>Never drive impaired by alcohol, cannabis or other substances<\/li>\n<li>Wear your seat belt; it\u2019s one of the simplest ways to save your life<\/li>\n<li>Speak up if someone you know is about to drive impaired; take the keys and help them get home safely<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With millions of Americans expected to travel for the Labor Day holiday celebrating the end of summer, the National Safety Council has issued a plea for motorists to prioritize safety and drive cautiously.
