{"id":15265,"date":"2025-09-22T15:00:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T15:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=15265"},"modified":"2025-09-18T20:51:29","modified_gmt":"2025-09-18T20:51:29","slug":"campaign-highlights-importance-of-correct-car-seat-use","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/campaign-highlights-importance-of-correct-car-seat-use\/","title":{"rendered":"Campaign highlights importance of correct car seat use"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Car seat safety starts at birth and shouldn\u2019t end too soon, that\u2019s the message from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aaa.com\/International\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AAA<\/a> ahead of National Child Passenger Safety Week.<\/p>\n<p>According to new AAA analysis, child safety and booster seat use declines after a child turns three, which the organization called\u00a0 \u201calarming\u201d as it revealed that nearly 100,000 children in the US were injured in car crashes in 2023 alone.<\/p>\n<p>With the start of Baby Safety Month, and National Child Passenger Safety Week from September 21 to 27, the AAA and the National Safety Council (NSC) are highlighting the importance of correct car seat use.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSaving lives is what we\u2019re all about at AAA, and that starts with making sure every kid is buckled up the right way, every time,\u201d said Jake Nelson, AAA\u2019s Director of Traffic Safety Advocacy and Research. \u201cCar seats can be tricky \u2014 but AAA\u2019s here to help parents get it right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>AAA\u2019s analysis has revealed from 2019 to 2023, over 3.9 million children aged 11 and under were involved in car crashes, resulting in more than 516,000 injuries and more than 2,800 fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>According to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhtsa.gov\/book\/countermeasures\/countermeasures-work\/seat-belts-and-child-restraints#:~:text=NHTSA%20estimates%20that%20correctly%20used,years%20old%20in%20passenger%20cars.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. Department of Transportation<\/a>, child restraints reduce fatalities by 71 per cent for infants younger than one and by 54 per cent for children one to four years old in passenger cars.<\/p>\n<p>However the National Digital Car Seat Check Form (NDCF) database shows 67 per cent of car seats checked in 2024 were improperly installed or used.<\/p>\n<p>Child\u2019s car seat and readiness for a seat belt can be checked virtually through an online meeting with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.safety-connection.org\/caregiver\/?utm_source=wire&amp;utm_medium=press_release&amp;utm_campaign=aaa_cpsw2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Safety Council<\/a> staff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Car seat safety starts at birth and shouldn\u2019t end too soon, that\u2019s the message from the AAA ahead of National Child Passenger Safety Week.
