{"id":15477,"date":"2026-05-04T15:00:17","date_gmt":"2026-05-04T15:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/edrivingcomstg.wpenginepowered.com\/three60\/?p=15477"},"modified":"2026-04-30T19:00:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T19:00:10","slug":"headlight-glare-growing-concern-for-drivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/headlight-glare-growing-concern-for-drivers\/","title":{"rendered":"Headlight glare growing concern for drivers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new AAA survey has revealed headlight glare is a growing concern among drivers.<\/p>\n<p>Six in ten drivers say glare is a problem after dark, and nearly three-quarters of those affected believe it has worsened over the past decade.<\/p>\n<p>The AAA said findings are renewing concerns about road safety, headlight regulations, and modern lighting standards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeadlight glare has become a major source of frustration and concern for millions of drivers,\u201d said Greg Brannon, director of automotive engineering and research at AAA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs vehicle lighting technology evolves, so must our understanding of glare, its impact, and the steps drivers can take to maintain safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Most drivers who experience glare cite oncoming headlights as the primary cause, with 92% identifying it as their top concern. About one third also report glare issues in their rearview or side mirrors.<\/p>\n<p>Additional findings from the survey were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drivers who wear prescription glasses (70%) experience more glare than those who do not (56%).<\/li>\n<li>Pickup truck drivers are less likely to report glare (41%) than drivers of other vehicle types (66%).<\/li>\n<li>Female drivers (70%) report glare more often than male drivers (57%).<\/li>\n<li>Age alone does not show a statistically significant impact on likelihood to report glare being an issue.<\/li>\n<li>The height of the driver does not significantly influence the likelihood of experiencing glare.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new AAA survey has revealed headlight glare is a growing concern among drivers.
