The NHTSA grant program funds innovative safety tools for traffic enforcement measures including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Predictive data-driven analytics to deploy law enforcement resources<\/li>\n<li>Public-private partnerships designed to incentivize positive driving behavior<\/li>\n<li>Specialized training to educate law enforcement on dangerous driving behaviors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis new funding allows us to test and validate next-generation enforcement models that will become the proven safety countermeasures of tomorrow &#8211; using data-driven technology to stop risky driving behaviors before they lead to tragedy on our roadways,\u201d said NHTSA Administrator Jonathan Morrison.<\/p>\n<p>NHTSA\u2019s Innovative Traffic Safety Enforcement (ITSE) program supports local law enforcement agencies by funding projects that develop, test, and validate innovations that combat dangerous driving behaviors\u2013including drug- and alcohol-impaired driving, distracted driving, seatbelt use, speeding, and reckless driving.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The US Department of Transportation\u2019s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a $20 million investment to tackle dangerous driving.
