New English and Spanish language advertisements will illustrate the fatal consequences of texting and driving.<\/p>\n<p>The new English language ad, \u201cFamous Last Words,\u201d features a funeral procession for \u201cHannah,\u201d a girl who, a voice over tells us, never crawled, but went straight to walking, then running. An eager girl. A girl whose last text was \u201cSMH\u201d, (shaking my head), as sadly noted by a police officer who picks up her battered phone at the scene of a horrific crash. As the funeral procession continues, viewers see Hannah\u2019s headstone \u2013 with the simple letters SMH for her name. The tagline \u2013 \u201cIf you text and drive, your next message might be your last.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>View English Language Ad<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Famous Last Words\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/L6uepXw9gZA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The new Spanish language ad, \u201cLas buenas noticias pueden esperar\u201d features a mother-to-be leaving the doctor\u2019s office. As she gets in her car, she responds to a text from someone asking about her appointment. Second later, an officer picks up the woman\u2019s phone, which is scattered among shattered glass and twisted metal resulting from a car crash. The phone\u2019s last text, demonstrates how precious life is and how quickly it can be lost by a few seconds of texting.<\/p>\n<p>View Spanish Language Ad<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Las buenas noticias pueden esperar\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mTg97yp3eC8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Currently, 46 states, D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands ban text messaging for all drivers. All but five states have primary enforcement.
