{"id":7872,"date":"2018-10-11T13:21:27","date_gmt":"2018-10-11T13:21:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=7872"},"modified":"2018-10-11T13:21:27","modified_gmt":"2018-10-11T13:21:27","slug":"car-showrooms-in-australia-display-crash-tested-vehicle-wrecks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/car-showrooms-in-australia-display-crash-tested-vehicle-wrecks\/","title":{"rendered":"Car showrooms in Australia display crash-tested vehicle wrecks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Australasia\u2019s independent vehicle safety authority, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ancap.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ANCAP<\/a>, is stepping up its engagement with car dealerships and consumers by displaying crash-tested vehicle wrecks in new car showrooms.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of initiative is to incorporate safety as an integral part of the sales conversation between dealers and car buyers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDealers are crucial advocates for ANCAP and the safer vehicles message,\u201d said ANCAP Chief Executive, James Goodwin. \u201cHaving consumers able to see, touch and even sit in a vehicle that\u2019s been crash-tested \u2013 complete with deployed airbags and visible dummy contact points \u2013 is a unique experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A consumer poll carried out by ANCAP revealed that, of those who received safety information from dealers prior to purchase, that information played a direct role in the purchasing decision of 88 percent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are stepping up our engagement with dealers, working with a range of vehicle brands, dealer groups and the Australian Automotive Dealer Association (AADA) to provide consumers with a tangible example of vehicle safety,\u201d said Goodwin. \u201cIt is important we engage with dealers and consumers at the point-of-sale, and in particular, it is important we bring our display vehicles to regional dealerships as two thirds [66 percent] of all road deaths occur in regional and remote areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the introduction of automated vehicle technologies, the car buying experience must also change, to educate consumers on the benefits and function of safety assist features.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Kia Stinger is the first crash-tested vehicle to go on display, alongside its pristine equivalent.
