The new <a href=\"https:\/\/le.utah.gov\/~2017\/bills\/static\/HB0155.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">law<\/a> states that anyone over this limit who \u201coperates a motor vehicle in a negligent manner causing the death of another\u201d will have committed a criminal homicide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite decades of public campaigns and other efforts to discourage driving after drinking, survey and observational data show that many people continue to do so,\u201d the Utah Department of Public Safety said in a statement. \u201cOver the last five years, there were 54,402 arrests for DUI in Utah, which represents an average of 29.8 per day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Utah is the first state in the US to reduce the BAC limit below 0.08.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The state of Utah is introducing the nation\u2019s strictest DUI law this month.
