{"id":8664,"date":"2019-05-17T10:06:31","date_gmt":"2019-05-17T10:06:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=8664"},"modified":"2019-05-17T10:06:31","modified_gmt":"2019-05-17T10:06:31","slug":"click-it-or-ticket-campaign-urges-us-drivers-to-buckle-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/click-it-or-ticket-campaign-urges-us-drivers-to-buckle-up\/","title":{"rendered":"Click It or Ticket campaign urges US drivers to buckle up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every year, the Memorial Day holiday weekend marks the unofficial start of summer in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>It also marks the beginning of vacation season, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is reminding drivers and passengers of the importance of buckling up, every trip, every time!<\/p>\n<p>From May 20 through June 2, about 10,000 law enforcement agencies nationwide will be out on the roads to enforce the annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhtsa.gov\/campaign\/click-it-or-ticket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click It or Ticket<\/a> campaign.<\/p>\n<p>According to NHTSA, 10,076 people who were killed in passenger vehicle crashes in 2017 weren\u2019t wearing a seat belt. Fifty-five percent of those fatalities happened at night (6 p.m.\u20135:59 a.m.).<\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement will take a no-excuses approach to seat belt law enforcement during the Click It or Ticket campaign, writing citations day and night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Every year, the Memorial Day holiday weekend marks the unofficial start of summer in the United States.
