Riders are encouraged to take a refresher course and have their motorbikes professionally serviced.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe strongly advise riders to check that they and their motorcycles are &#8216;ride ready&#8217; before they get back on their bikes,\u201d said Janice Millman, MSAC Deputy Chair.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore than a half of motorcyclists get their bikes out of the garage and on to the road after the winter break, so it&#8217;s important to remind drivers that more of us are about and to look out for us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>MAM19 officially gets underway in Auckland on Saturday 31 August and kicks off a number of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rideforever.co.nz\/events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Motorcycle Awareness Month events<\/a> taking place around the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Motorcyclists in New Zealand are being reminded how they can keep themselves safe during September\u2019s Motorcycle Awareness Month.
