{"id":9232,"date":"2019-11-07T17:32:42","date_gmt":"2019-11-07T17:32:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=9232"},"modified":"2019-11-07T17:32:42","modified_gmt":"2019-11-07T17:32:42","slug":"driving-licence-goes-digital-in-new-south-wales","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/driving-licence-goes-digital-in-new-south-wales\/","title":{"rendered":"Driving licence goes digital in New South Wales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>More than half a million drivers in New South Wales have signed up for a Digital Driver\u2019s Licence (DDL) following successful trials.<\/p>\n<p>Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Customer Service, Victor Dominello, announced the statewide rollout of the DDL this month after being welcomed by drivers in Dubbo, Albury and Sydney\u2019s Eastern Beaches.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Digital Driver\u2019s Licence is the latest way we are making life easier for the people of this state,\u201d Berejiklian said. \u201cMore than 550,000 people have already downloaded the digital licence, with 97 percent giving it the thumbs up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Drivers with a DDL can show it on their smartphone for proof of identity, proof of age and at roadside police checks.<\/p>\n<p>The licence has been designed with additional levels of security and protection against identity fraud, compared to the plastic driver licence.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers who opt-in for a digital version are encouraged to carry their plastic licence in the initial stages.<\/p>\n<p>For more information visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.service.nsw.gov.au\/campaign\/digital-driver-licence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.service.nsw.gov.au\/campaign\/digital-driver-licence<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More than half a million drivers in New South Wales have signed up for a Digital Driver\u2019s Licence (DDL) following successful trials.
