{"id":9261,"date":"2019-11-18T18:07:47","date_gmt":"2019-11-18T18:07:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=9261"},"modified":"2019-11-18T18:07:47","modified_gmt":"2019-11-18T18:07:47","slug":"motorcycle-helmet-safety-standard-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/motorcycle-helmet-safety-standard-launched\/","title":{"rendered":"Motorcycle helmet safety standard launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new Australian safety rating for motorcycle helmets has been released to accompany the MotoCAP gear safety rating.<\/p>\n<p>The Motorcycle Safety Advisory Council (MSAC) and The Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) have already endorsed MotoCAP which tests the quality of motorcycle gear in Australasian conditions. Consumer Rating and Assessment of Safety Helmets (CRASH) offers motorcyclists a similar check for helmet quality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGood gear has already been proven to reduce crash injuries,\u201d said Mark Gilbert, MSAC Chair.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew Zealand currently has no mandated standard for motorcycle gear. CRASH offers riders a tool for helping them buy gear that has been tested and is proven to perform, which is why MSAC supports it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CRASH is the result of a partnership between Australian transport, insurance and safety agencies.
