Christmas Day was also deadly, with drunk driving the cause of 35 deaths.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no excuse for driving under the influence of any mind-altering substance, including alcohol,\u201d said MADD National President Helen Witty.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease, designate a non-drinking, unimpaired driver. Call a taxi or a rideshare service. Take public transportation. It\u2019s that easy.
