{"id":9513,"date":"2020-02-13T18:21:38","date_gmt":"2020-02-13T18:21:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=9513"},"modified":"2020-02-13T18:21:38","modified_gmt":"2020-02-13T18:21:38","slug":"ny-super-bowl-crackdown-results-in-more-than-8300-tickets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/ny-super-bowl-crackdown-results-in-more-than-8300-tickets\/","title":{"rendered":"NY Super Bowl crackdown results in more than 8,300 tickets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New York State Police issued more than 8,300 tickets and arrested 122 people for impaired driving over Super Bowl Weekend.<\/p>\n<p>During the annual traffic enforcement campaign, which ran from Friday, February 1 to the early hours of Monday, February 3, State Police increased patrols and conducted sobriety checkpoints to deter, identify and arrest impaired drivers.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers issued tickets for a variety of vehicle and traffic violations including speeding, distracted driving, seatbelt violations and the <em>Move Over<\/em> law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven if your team didn\u2019t make it to the game, Super Bowl festivities remain a great tradition centered around spending time with friends and loved ones, but it\u2019s not a license to overindulge and take to the roads,\u201d said Governor Andrew Cuomo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew York has zero tolerance for drinking and driving and these results show that our aggressive enforcement of the law is working and it\u2019s helping to keep New Yorkers safe on our roadways and highways.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The initiative was funded by the Governor\u2019s Traffic Safety Committee and was also carried out by local law enforcement agencies across the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New York State Police issued more than 8,300 tickets and arrested 122 people for impaired driving over Super Bowl Weekend.
