{"id":9519,"date":"2020-02-13T18:53:06","date_gmt":"2020-02-13T18:53:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=9519"},"modified":"2020-02-13T18:53:06","modified_gmt":"2020-02-13T18:53:06","slug":"mascots-spreading-the-road-safety-message-to-nsw-kids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/mascots-spreading-the-road-safety-message-to-nsw-kids\/","title":{"rendered":"Mascots spreading the road safety message to NSW kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Road safety mascots are helping to educate children across New South Wales.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.transport.nsw.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Transport for NSW\u2019s<\/a> Safety Town characters Daisy and Sprocket are heading out on a regional roadshow visiting community events including school fairs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year we announced Daisy and Sprocket would leap from computer screens into real life, encouraging kids and families to make road safety an everyday topic of conversation,\u201d said Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur great mascots will help reinforce the messages like \u2018hold an adult\u2019s hand when you cross the road\u2019 and \u2018Stop!, Look!, Listen!, Think!\u2019 every time you cross the road.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Road Safety Education Program is one of the programs funded by Transport for NSW to help keep children safe when out and about.<\/p>\n<p>Other projects have including installing a combination of signage, road markings and flashing lights to remind motorists to slow down when entering a school zone and an $18.5 million investment to deliver 300 new school crossing supervisors to schools.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Road safety mascots are helping to educate children across New South Wales.
