{"id":9586,"date":"2020-03-11T17:09:56","date_gmt":"2020-03-11T17:09:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=9586"},"modified":"2020-03-11T17:09:56","modified_gmt":"2020-03-11T17:09:56","slug":"car-sharing-suggested-as-safer-alternative-to-grey-fleet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/car-sharing-suggested-as-safer-alternative-to-grey-fleet\/","title":{"rendered":"Car-sharing suggested as safer alternative to grey fleet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Independent vehicle safety authority, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ancap.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ANCAP SAFETY<\/a>, is reminding employers and employees to make safer choices when using privately-owned vehicles for work.<\/p>\n<p>Around one in four of all trips taken on Australia\u2019s roads each year are made by employees driving as part of their routine employment.<\/p>\n<p>Many organisations now have established policies which require the use of 5-star ANCAP safety rated fleet vehicles but an aspect which is often overlooked is the use of generally older, less safe private vehicles for work purposes, dubbed \u2018grey\u2019 fleet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we may not realise it, the vehicle is an extension of the workplace and just as we provide our employees with a safe workspace in the office, factory or worksite, we must also provide them with a safe vehicle,\u201d said ANCAP Chief Executive, James Goodwin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorkplace responsibilities also extend to employees using private vehicles for work purposes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ANCAP is teaming up with car sharing service, GoGet, to highlight that car-share vehicles could be a safer alternative to grey fleet vehicles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Independent vehicle safety authority, ANCAP SAFETY, is reminding employers and employees to make safer choices when using privately-owned vehicles for work.
