{"id":9621,"date":"2020-03-23T19:21:19","date_gmt":"2020-03-23T19:21:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=9621"},"modified":"2020-03-23T19:21:19","modified_gmt":"2020-03-23T19:21:19","slug":"driving-tests-and-mots-for-heavy-vehicles-suspended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/driving-tests-and-mots-for-heavy-vehicles-suspended\/","title":{"rendered":"Driving tests and MOTs for heavy vehicles suspended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has suspended driving tests in England, Scotland and Wales for up to three months, to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are having to take big decisions to protect the public in our national battle against COVID-19. Regrettably, we have had to suspend driver testing for up to 3 months to help tackle the spread of the virus,\u201d said Transport Secretary Grant Shapps. \u201cIt is vital that those who need a test can get one so DVSA is offering tests to those who have a critical need, such as the NHS and drivers delivering goods across the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The tests being suspended include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>car driving tests<\/li>\n<li>motorcycle tests<\/li>\n<li>lorry, coach and bus driving tests<\/li>\n<li>approved driving instructor (ADI) tests and checks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>DVSA will contact everyone with a test booked during this time to let them know their test has been cancelled and that it will automatically re-book for them.<\/p>\n<p>DVSA has put in place plans to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/coronavirus-covid-19-driving-tests-and-theory-tests#book-an-emergency-test-if-youre-a-critical-worker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">provide tests for critical workers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nidirect.gov.uk\/services\/book-your-practical-driving-test-online\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">separate arrangements in Northern Ireland<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has suspended driving tests in England, Scotland and Wales for up to three months, to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. \u201cWe are having to take big decisions to protect the public in our national battle against COVID-19.
