The \u201csocial distancing in vehicles\u201d advice applies to those who usually travel with colleagues for work purposes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Avoid multiple occupancy vehicles where safe to do so<\/li>\n<li>Vehicles should not be shared if possible<\/li>\n<li>If it is not possible to keep a 2m distance in a vehicle, consider additional safety measures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Steps that will usually be needed:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Devising mitigation measures where workers have no alternative but to work within 2m to minimise the risk of transmission, including:<br \/>\n\u2013 Clear signage to outline social distancing measures in place<br \/>\n\u2013 Single person or contactless refuelling where possible<br \/>\n\u2013 Using physical screening, provided this does not compromise safety, for example, through reducing visibility<br \/>\n\u2013 Sitting side-by-side not face-to-face and increasing ventilation where possible<\/li>\n<li>Using a fixed pairing system if people have to work in close proximity, for example in a vehicle<\/li>\n<li>Making sure vehicles are well-ventilated to increase the flow of air, for example, by opening a window<\/li>\n<li>Ensure regular cleaning of vehicles, in particular between different users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This advice forms part of the government\u2019s guidance for people who work in or from vehicles, including couriers, mobile workers, lorry drivers, on-site transit and work vehicles, field forces and similar. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19\/vehicles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">See full guidance<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UK Government has published guidance to help those who drive for work maintain social distancing where possible.
