Drivers will not receive a new card or paper extension in the mail, but can request a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fvirtual.dmv.ca.gov%2Ftemporary-driver-license-request%2F&amp;data=02%7C01%7CGarin.Casaleggio%40calsta.ca.gov%7C99194a98fab14cac2d8208d7fe840035%7C621b0a64174043cc8d884540d3487556%7C0%7C0%7C637257715206035232&amp;sdata=45Pin6FAA5ZI8cHSBKFB4Nece%2BbqrgVvRz8dTz8jjzI%3D&amp;reserved=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">free temporary paper extension online<\/a>\u00a0beginning July 15 through DMV\u2019s Virtual Field Office to document the extension, though this is not needed to drive.
