{"id":9921,"date":"2020-07-30T21:50:01","date_gmt":"2020-07-30T21:50:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/?p=9921"},"modified":"2020-07-30T21:50:01","modified_gmt":"2020-07-30T21:50:01","slug":"dvsa-launches-training-course-for-new-motorcyclists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edriving.com\/three60\/dvsa-launches-training-course-for-new-motorcyclists\/","title":{"rendered":"DVSA launches training course for new motorcyclists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has introduced a new optional online training course called <em>Ridefree<\/em>, a training course for new riders to undertake before their CBT.<\/p>\n<p>The free course has been developed by DVSA, Highways England and other partners to help new riders prepare for a lifetime of safe riding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The course contains 5 online learning modules covering:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the Highway Code and hazard perception<\/li>\n<li>clothing, equipment and the importance of maintenance<\/li>\n<li>how a rider\u2019s behaviour can affect them and other road users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cAs motorcyclists are amongst the most vulnerable road users it\u2019s essential they have the right knowledge and skills needed to stay safe on Britain\u2019s roads,\u201d said Mark Winn, DVSA Chief Driving and Riding Examiner. \u201cGetting the right advice from a professional instructor and the new ride free course helps new riders get the most from their CBT and should improve road safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The course has won a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award and a Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) Kier Road Safety Award.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.safedrivingforlife.info\/ridefree\/user\/login\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Visit the Ridefree website<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) has introduced a new optional online training course called Ridefree, a training course for new riders to undertake before their CBT.
