It\u2019s an easy choice to protect yourself and those in your vehicle,\u201d said CDOT Executive Director Shoshana Lew. \u201cStatistics show there\u2019s a 1 in 33 chance you\u2019ll be in a car crash in a given year and wearing a seat belt is the best way to prevent injury or death.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Click It or Ticket<\/em>\u00a0seat belt enforcement is a component of CDOT\u2019s\u00a0<em>Whole System \u2014 Whole Safety<\/em>\u00a0initiative and the agency\u2019s vision to reduce the number of deaths and injuries on Colorado roadways.<\/p>\n<p>Among the agencies with the highest number of citations statewide was the Loveland Police Department with 173 citations, Jefferson County Sherriff\u2019s Office with 158 citations, and Greeley Police Department with 129 citations.
