Drivers in British Columbia can better prepare for their journey thanks to 30 new cameras and 71 more views added to the DriveBC webcam network this year.

New cameras have been installed during the year at locations throughout BC to support drivers and road operators in planning for traffic and weather conditions on the route ahead. The cameras offer real-time images of hundreds of locations throughout the province, with a total of 457 highway cameras delivering 873 views.

Webcam locations are assessed based on need, identified either by residents, contractors or weather experts. DriveBC also has links to information about border delays, inland ferries and how to safely drive in winter conditions.

The Ministry of Transportation is encouraging drivers to check DriveBC.ca before they head out on the roads and highways to make sure they “know before they go.”

Travel information is available 24/7 via www.DriveBC.ca. The DriveBC webcams can be visited at https://images.drivebc.ca/bchighwaycam/
