The Department for Transport has issued new COVID-19 testing guidance for hauliers arriving in England and travelling from the UK.
Hauliers must take a COVID-19 test if they are staying in the country for more than two days, plus a further test every three days after that if they are still in England, unless drivers are either:
- covered by the green list rules
- covered by the amber list rules and have been fully vaccinated under the UK, EU or Swiss vaccination programmes – this does not apply if you have been in France in the 10 days before arrival in England
The rules apply to drivers and crews of HGVs and drivers of vans and other light goods vehicles and applies to both UK-based and non-UK hauliers.
Hauliers without proof of a negative COVID-19 test are being warned they could be fined up to £2,000.
