Fines for drivers who fail to follow the rules on Transport for London (TfL) managed roads have increased.

Drivers caught committing offences such as driving in a bus lane, making a banned turn, or parking illegally on the red route will be fined £160 instead of £130 from this week.

The new Penalty Charge will continue to be reduced by 50 percent if paid within 14 days; and be increased by 50 percent if paid late (after 28 days).

TfL says the increase in fine is in line with inflation and comes after public consultations were held in August and September last year.

Overall, there was a 26 percent increase in the number of PCNs issued for parking, loading, bus lane and moving traffic contraventions between 2016 and 2019.
