The Department for Transport has issued new guidance on international road haulage.
The guidance advises HGV and trailer drivers on the documents needed to legally cross international borders in a UK-registered vehicle.
Drivers must ensure their vehicle is taxed and they must carry certain documents with them including:
- the vehicle and trailer registration documents
- certificates for any specialist approvals the vehicle has
- a goods vehicle operator licence disc
- licences or permits needed for the journey
- vehicle and trailer insurance documents
- a GB sticker
