Road safety experts have launched a study looking at motorcycle safety in Africa.

Fred Engineering, an international consulting firm specialising in road safety, and SWOV, the national scientific institute for road safety research, have been awarded a Worldbank contract with the aim of developing recommendations to improve motorcycle safety in the country.

The study, which runs until April 2020, will focus on Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Uganda where the use of motorcycles for daily activities is high.

Recommendations will aim to inform regional member countries on policy advice and technical assistance.
