A new law that relates to stopping for school buses has gone into effect in Georgia, US.

SB 25 has amended the rules for drivers meeting or overtaking school buses to update “poor wording” in last year’s law.

Previously, drivers who had a turn lane between them and a school bus could continue to drive without technically breaking the law. Now, Governor Brian Kemp has signed the new bill into law that means drivers can only pass a stopped school bus if there is a physical median between them and the bus.
