The Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works (DTPW) has introduced a new USSD “quick code” system to allow passengers using public transport to send free feedback about their journey to help to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Using their mobile phones, passengers can dial *134*234# and tell DTPW whether the vehicle they are travelling on is adhering to lockdown loading limits, if the driver is wearing a mask, if there is hand sanitiser on board The Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works (DTPW) has introduced a new USSD “quick code” system to allow passengers using public transport to send free feedback about their journey to help to prevent the spread of COVID-19.and whether the vehicle is clean and tidy.

The DTPW is responsible for managing public transport operator compliance with national government regulations regarding loading restrictions, hygiene and social distancing during the lockdown.
