New clean-up kits are now available for taxis and other point to point transport service providers in New South Wales (NSW), Australia, to help keep drivers and passengers safe during COVID-19.

Minister for Transport and Roads Andrew Constance says the NSW Government continues to support the point to point transport industry by providing free COVID clean-up kits for operators, on top of the eight vehicle sanitisation stations already rolled out across parts of the state.

“We understand the important role point to point transport services provide to communities, which is why we’re providing the reassurance both drivers and passengers need to continue using these services,” said Constance.

“We’ve already rolled out eight vehicle sanitisation stations across the state, which not only slow the potential spread of COVID-19, but also help keep the local economy ticking by employing more than 85 people.”

The new kits can be collected from the eight vehicle sanitisation stations, as well as online.

“This is about ensuring people who rely on point to point transport in the regions can feel confident continuing to use these services during COVID,” said Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Paul Toole. “We’ve made it convenient for drivers to collect these kits while their vehicles are sanitised in regional areas like Dubbo, Albury, Tamworth and Central Coast. Already we’ve seen more than 7,000 vehicles use the stations, so we know it’s making a difference.”
