The states with the best and worst driving experiences have been revealed in a new report released by WalletHub.

The following factors were taken into consideration in determining the best and worst states: cost of ownership and maintenance, traffic and infrastructure, safety, and access to vehicles and maintenance.

In relation to safety, the report evaluated multiple metrics including traffic indiscipline, share of adults who always or nearly always wear a seatbelt, traffic fatality rate, strictness of DUI punishment, driving laws, share of uninsured drivers and animal loss claims per total number of drivers.

The best state overall was revealed as Iowa, followed by Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas and Nebraska. The worst states were (from bottom) Hawaii, Rhode Island, Washington, California and Colorado.
