This year’s Road Safety Week will take place 19-25 November 2018 and resources are now available online for companies to get involved.

Brake, the road safety charity, which coordinates the annual event, says employers can play a vital role in helping to reduce road crashes and making roads safer for everyone, while improving their reputation and morale, and reducing costs.

The theme of this year’s Road Safety Week is Bike Smart. With cyclists and motorcyclists among the most vulnerable road users in the UK, Brake is encouraging drivers to be Bike Smart by looking out for those on two wheels, driving safely and slowly and giving bike riders plenty of space. The charity is also calling on cyclists and motorcyclists to be Bike Smart through safe riding behaviours and appropriate training and equipment.

Employers can sign up for Brake’s Road Safety Week Bike Smart Action Pack that includes ideas for raising awareness, campaigning and fundraising during the Week. It also includes a webinar with tips for organisations on how to get involved, as well as driver advice sheets, infographics and posters.
