New drivers in California are being supported to build safe driving habits with the launch of new online resources.
Whether studying for a permit test, practicing behind-the-wheel or preparing for a drive test, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is offering a variety of mobile-friendly educational resources.
“Learning to drive is an exciting milestone for new drivers and nothing is more important than being safe and knowledgeable when getting behind the wheel.” said DMV Director Steve Gordon.
“The DMV has resources to help new drivers build their skills and confidence to make smart decisions on California’s roads.”
Among these resources is the Teen Driver Roadmap, a step-by-step guide that helps teens and parents understand permit requirements and key licensing milestones. New drivers can also review the California Quick Reference Driver’s Handbook (PDF), which provides an easy-to-use overview of safe driving practices.
New drivers, parents, guardians, educators and driving schools are being encouraged to use and share the free resources available on the DMV website at dmv.ca.gov and the California DMV YouTube channel.
