A new “Keep Your License Safe” social media campaign has been launched in Colorado to help educate new teen drivers about safety laws that specifically apply to them.

As part of the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) initiative, campaign videos are to feature on Snapchat, TikTok and Instagram highlighting the Graduated Drivers Licensing (GDL) laws which includes no cell phones, no passengers under 21, and always wearing a seat belt.

GDL laws are designed to keep drivers under the age of 18 safe by giving them driving experience without distractions, and by limiting dangerous driving situations.

CDOT says the laws have contributed to a near 50 percent reduction in traffic fatalities involving young drivers over the last 20 years.
