The US state of Nevada is reportedly evaluating the use of technology to determine whether a person was using a phone during a car crash.

Known as a “textalyzer”, the technology connects to a phone and determines user activity. Developed by Israel-based company Cellebrite, the technology has not yet been tested in the field.

Reports state that lawmakers are considering the measure following a legislative proposal. If passed, Nevada would be one of the first states to allow police to use this type of technology.
