This week (May 17-23), communities, organizations and individuals around the world will join activities taking place to coincide with UN Global Road Safety Week.

The theme, Streets for Life, calls for 20mph/ 30kmh speed limits where people walk, live and play, through legislation, infrastructure, design, enforcement, vehicle technology, and public awareness-raising.

Low speed streets offer the potential to tackle car dependency, to reduce road traffic injury, and reduce climate impacts.

Visit the website www.unroadsafetyweek.org to find out how to get involved.
