eDriving Partners with Blackay to Reduce Driver Risk in Latin America and the Caribbean

Cape May, New Jersey – [October 5, 2021] – eDrivingSM, a Solera company, and leading global provider of digital driver risk management programs, has announced a new partnership with Blackay to help organizations in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region reduce driver risk.

According to the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, the rate of fatalities from traffic collisions in the LAC region grew from 14.75 to 17.68 deaths per 100,000 population between 2000 and 2010, an increase of 20 percent. This fatality rate is almost twice the level observed in high-income countries[1].

As a result of the new partnership, Blackay will provide its clients with access to eDriving’s award-winning driver* risk management solutions that help organizations around the world reduce collisions, injuries, license violations and total cost of fleet ownership (TCO). eDriving’s programs are focused on ensuring everyone who drives for work purposes returns home safely at the end of each day.

“We are proud to announce this partnership with eDriving,” said Pablo Diaz, Business Manager at Blackay. “We seek to be a collaboration for drivers. eDriving promotes a sustainable crash-free culture. We know that this type of commitment actively reduces collisions and injuries by consistently improving behavior. We hope to combine our joint work and reduce this epidemic of collisions on our routes.”

eDriving’s Mentor app is a smartphone-based digital driver safety program that identifies driver risk using a validated FICO® Safe Driving Score, and remediates risky behavior with training, coaching and gamification. Mentor also incorporates emergency rapid response services powered by Sfara and Bosch**, an eco-driving indicator, vehicle inspections, collision reporting, and more!

As with all eDriving programs and tools, Mentor operates within a highly secure, privacy-first environment, in which only driver data required for risk management is shared with the manager. No location data or individual trip data is visible beyond the driver.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Blackay to deliver Mentor to the Latin America and Caribbean market,” said Ed Dubens, Founder/CEO of eDriving. “Blackay is passionate about utilizing technology to help reduce road crashes, and we’re confident that Mentor will prove the ideal solution for helping improve behavior and reduce risk for those who drive for work purposes in the LAC region while protecting their privacy, too.”

Mentor packages include eDriving’s Crash-Free Culture® program, a 5-stage comprehensive program that starts with embracing safety as a strategic imperative and building out a safety culture accordingly.
