Our Story

eDriving’s mission is to help our clients reduce collisions, injuries, license violations and Total Cost of Ownership, thereby ensuring that all drivers return home safely to their loved ones at the end of each day.

We provide organizations with everything they need to achieve and sustain a crash-free culture® that does not accept collisions as an inevitable part of driving for work.

We start by helping organizations to establish safety as a corporate priority. Then, our patented, closed-loop driver risk management program, Mentor by eDrivingSM, uses smartphone-based telematics to monitor risky driving behaviors, assign a FICO® Safe Driving Score predictive of a driver’s likelihood to be in a collision, and remediate risky behavior by prescribing interactive micro training directly to drivers in the Mentor app.

We wrap this unique solution with our patented, five-stage approach to driver risk management used by Fortune 500 companies throughout the world and recognized with over 70 client and partner awards. Finally, we provide managers with the tools needed to maintain consistent communication with drivers and reinforce messaging to make safety part of everyday priorities.

Our business began in 1996 in Huddersfield, United Kingdom. In the 1990s, we helped 200+ organizations on the journey to successful ISO9000 registration and pioneered the use of multimedia and online tools, including the world’s first Defensive Driving CD-ROM.

Today, we operate around the world, helping organizations across all industries to successfully manage driver risk. In addition to our UK headquarters in Huddersfield, we have a US headquarters in New Jersey and a Global Customer Success Network that provides support to approximately 1.2 million drivers throughout nearly 100 countries.

Award-winning solutions that evolve

Over the years, VRM has evolved from a pure CD-based delivery platform to a digital format available online across 7 continents, 96 countries, and 45 languages. The recipient of over 70 awards, VRM continues to reduce collisions and incidents by up to 67% in Fortune 500 organizations across the world. Now, we’ve combined it with the latest smartphone telematics, proven behavioral change techniques, microlearning, and gamification to provide an integrated, smartphone-based driver risk management solution, Mentor by eDriving.

Mentor by eDriving continues to encapsulate everything that has come to be synonymous with VRM, including eDriving’s patented* five-stage, continuous improvement approach to driver risk management.  To this proven foundation, Mentor by eDriving adds smartphone technology that captures individual driver risk behavior, a FICO® Safe Driving Score shown to predict likelihood of crashes/incidents, gamification, and in-app training to reduce driver risk levels. Mentor is a 2019 recipient of a Gold Stevie® in the International Business Awards®, a Silver Stevie® in the American Business Awards® and a People’s Choice Stevie® Award.
