At a recent prestigious ceremony at the Savoy in London Asda Grocery Home Shopping, the fastest growing part of Wal-Mart’s UK operations, received the Prince Michael Road Safety award for its industry leading fleet safety programs.
The judges said:
“ASDA Grocery Home Shopping has evolved a data-rich, systems-based, fleet safety program to engage 6,000+ drivers across almost 230 locations. Led by both central and local teams, the program includes on-line risk assessments, DVLA checks, targeted management and driver engagement, coaching and communications. An on-line risk data warehouse provides management information from multiple internal and external sources to support safety decision-making. Incident rates have halved since 2008 and the company continues to focus on sustainable road safety interventions with the help of Interactive Driving Systems.”
The Prince Michael Road Safety Awards recognise achievements and innovations which improve road safety. Each year the most outstanding examples of road safety initiatives are given public recognition through the scheme.
