EU

Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) – aims to elevate transparency of sustainable investments, requiring financial markets participants to disclose information regarding their ESG activities.

Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) – aims to standardize how and what companies disclose around ESG with the aim to bring transparency and action plans to reduce environmental footprint.

Corporate Sustainable Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) – aims to ensure that businesses operating in the EU take responsibility for their impact on people and the planet.

United States

Enhancement & Standardization of Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors (2022) – proposed by the SEC, requires publicly traded companies to report on climate-related risk, including GHG emissions, that may impact business operations and/or results.

Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Mandatory Reporting of Greenhouse Gases Rule – requires large sources and suppliers in the US to report GHG emissions annually.

Australia

Climate related financial disclosure (2022) – enforces mandatory climate-related reporting obligations for the country’s largest companies and financial institutions from 1 July 2024.
